2.SILK GEORGETTE(GGT) BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Georgette is a sheer, lightweight, dull-finished crêpe fabric.It is plain or tabby woven, and like other crêpes is made with highly twisted yarns. Georgette's characteristic crinkly surface is created by alternating S- and Z-twist yarns in both warp and weft.Georgette is made in solid colors or prints, and is used for blouses, dresses, evening gowns, and trimmings. It is springier,rougher and less lustrous than the closely related chiffon.Georgette usual weight is 8 to 12mm.
3.SILK FABRIC PROPERTIES AND USES
Silk fabric has many distinct properties,such as comfortable feeling,thermal resistant,breathable,uvioresistant,heat retention,noise-absorbent,dust-absorbent,antistatic.It is often used for clothing such as shirts, ties, blouses, formal dresses(eg.cheongsam dress),high fashion clothes, lingerie, pyjamas, robes, dress suits, sun dresses and Eastern folk costumes.
Most silk fabrics are easily crinkled.Silk fabric has a properity of shrinkage,so it should be washed under 30°C before garment construction.There is almost no gradual shrinkage nor shrinkage after washing procedure.Line dry the washed fabric in shade,no overlapping.Do not soak silk fabric,this is very important.
